In a detailed analysis of the political and military scene from Gaza to southern Lebanon, alongside the US-Iran rapprochement and the region's future, former Lebanese Minister Wiam Wahab stated that Israel is determined to expand the war in the region. He ruled out any truce during Ramadan in Gaza, as both sides of the conflict want to emerge victorious, which is very difficult to achieve at present.
Wahab emphasized in the "High Tension" program on the "Al-Mashhad" channel and platform the possibility of an Israeli war on Hezbollah in Lebanon. He noted that Hezbollah has done everything possible to prevent the escalation of the war; however, Israel is intent on igniting the northern front if it does not obtain what it desires from Lebanon through negotiations. He explained that while Israel is capable of destroying Lebanon, Hezbollah's response would also be painful.
Wahab revealed that Hezbollah has purchased advanced and sophisticated weapons capable of harming Israel from the black market in Ukraine. He confirmed that "the war will continue in Gaza, and the timing of the war on Lebanon will be after the Rafah operation."
In response to a question about his stance on the Gaza war being similar to that of former President Michel Aoun, Wahab considered Aoun and Gibran Bassil's comments about Lebanon not being obligated to engage in a defense treaty with Gaza to be very logical, as Lebanon is not compelled to fight Israel on behalf of two billion Muslims.
Regarding the presidential elections in Lebanon, Wahab disclosed that Qatar is working on a name for the Lebanese presidency. He mentioned that "the two names proposed for the presidency are Brigadier Elias El-Baisri and Ambassador George Khoury, both of whom are close to Hezbollah and have been tested before."
Responding to a question about Hezbollah's supporters attacking him on social media for his critical stance, Wahab stated, "I don’t care about the issue; I give my opinion on politics, and I don’t need anyone to conduct a loyalty test on me every time. No one can prevent me from expressing my opinion on what is happening."
On the possibility of Donald Trump being re-elected as President of the United States, he asserted that Iran would find itself in a huge predicament with Trump's re-election, leading to major problems in the region.
