The Court of Appeal in the city of Tétouan, northeastern Morocco, sentenced a woman to life imprisonment for killing her husband and son in the city of M'diq. Sources close to the case indicated that the prosecution against the convicted woman's brother (her accomplice) was dropped following his death on March 25, 2024.
Police in Tétouan had arrested the woman and her brother on suspicion of being involved in the premeditated murder of the husband (the woman's spouse) and concealing the crime, which dates back to 2012. According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security, initial investigation information revealed that the arrested woman is suspected of participating with her brother in the murder of her husband in 2012, where they allegedly buried his body in the garage of their home. She later reported him missing under unknown circumstances in an attempt to mislead the investigation and conceal the crime.
Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of the wife as the main suspect in the case and the identification of the location of the remains of the deceased, which were recovered from the garage of her house in M'diq.
