Doctor Food Accused of Smuggling Drugs Through Candy: Scandals Involving Influencers Continue

Scandals surrounding "bloggers" and social media influencers in Lebanon are mounting, particularly after the recent exposure of a TikTok gang that lured children for the purpose of sexual assault two weeks ago. Compounding the troubles for "Doctor Food," one of Lebanon’s prominent social media influencers, are allegations of infidelity leveled against him by his wife, Shrouq, months ago, as well as accusations regarding spoiled food. Recently, new allegations of drug trafficking have surfaced.

A judicial investigator in Lebanon has brought charges against George Dib, known as "Doctor Food," for "manufacturing, trafficking, and smuggling drugs," following preliminary investigations into the case. As a result, a court session has been scheduled for the defendant's questioning on Monday to address the details of the case and make appropriate rulings.

In this context, a judicial source informed "Al Arabiya/Al Hadath.net" that the court will hear "Doctor Food's" testimony at the Palace of Justice and his defense concerning the allegations of his involvement in drug-related crimes. This follows a complaint filed against him based on information that the investigator received, indicating that Dib exploits his fame and his food and candy manufacturing institution to engage in drug trafficking.

This comes just months after similar accusations against him, as local media sources reported earlier this year that drugs were seized in some of "Doctor Food's" products while they were en route to Turkey via the airport. At that time, George Dib, known as "Doctor Food," was interrogated, denying that the goods confiscated at Rafic Hariri International Airport belonged to him or were manufactured in his facilities. He claimed that someone had imitated his products and used the trade name of his business in this operation.

However, he admitted to using drugs but denied trafficking in them, and the public prosecutor in Mount Lebanon subsequently charged him only with drug use, after which he was released.

Amid this turmoil, social media activists and users have questioned whether "Doctor Food" would attend the interrogation session tomorrow, especially since he is currently outside Lebanon, or if his legal representative will attend the Palace of Justice instead. The same source clarified that the Lebanese judiciary did not issue a "travel ban" when setting the interrogation date, and should the defendant fail to attend the interrogation session on Monday, the necessary legal actions will be taken by the Lebanese authorities.

It is noted that circulating information had indicated that the judiciary requested security agencies to subject the confiscated goods to examination and analysis to verify whether they were produced by "Doctor Food's" factories. Analysis results at that time showed that the food products indeed belonged to his factory, leading to charges against Dib along with a Syrian individual who was found with the goods at the airport during their shipment.

"Doctor Food" is known on the TikTok platform as a cooking expert and owns a restaurant. This uproar comes merely two weeks after the exposure of a TikTok gang of celebrities luring children for sexual assault, which sparked widespread outrage in Lebanese circles, particularly given that the same gang is involved in money laundering, drug promotion, and trafficking.
