After Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle showcased their love story in a documentary on Netflix, it seems that Prince William also has an issue he wants to address through a new two-part documentary series. The Prince of Wales will present a documentary series titled "Prince William: We Can End Homelessness," set to air on ITV this fall.
This documentary chronicles a five-year initiative called "Homewards," where viewers will follow Prince William as he launches the initiative across the UK, sharing stories of currently homeless individuals. The documentary will also highlight the efforts of prominent activists and project leaders working to combat homelessness in six key locations: Aberdeen, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole, Lambeth, Newport, Northern Ireland, and Sheffield.
Many believe that Prince William's initiative to eradicate homelessness stems from the values instilled in him by his mother, Princess Diana. Lady Diana made sure to introduce her children to the realities of life outside the royal family from a young age. She believed in the importance of compassion and empathy, often taking William and his brother Prince Harry on unannounced visits to homeless shelters.
These experiences left a positive impression on Prince William, shaping his understanding of homelessness and fueling his desire to make a difference. As a result, he became a patron of the charity "Centrepoint" for the homeless. Director Leo Burley, a BAFTA award winner, stated: "Over the past year, we spent time following Prince William and the royal foundation during the first year of the 'Homewards' program. We heard some very touching stories from people across the country facing homelessness."
