The Lebanese Golf Club has launched the first "Shouki Harb Cup" in snooker, sponsored by Harb Group for Electricity, on its tables at its headquarters in Beirut - Jnah area. The competitions are held daily with the participation of 16 players until Saturday, June 29, when the winners will be crowned.
In the tournament format, a player qualifies by winning two out of three rounds with the majority of points. In the final match, the player must win three out of five rounds. There are 22 balls on the table, including 15 red and 6 colored balls, with one white ball used for shooting towards the other balls.
Ghazi Al-Maawshi, the head of the Snooker Committee in the Lebanese Pool Federation and the Lebanese Golf Club, manages the tournament and acts as the official referee for the matches. He explains that the launch of the "Shouki Harb Cup" in snooker is a gesture of loyalty and appreciation for an outstanding sports figure who passed away early (may he rest in peace). He held several positions and responsibilities in the Golf Federation and the Lebanese Golf Club and had sponsored various activities related to snooker and golf.
