The United Nations has requested a seven-day ceasefire in Gaza to vaccinate over 640,000 children against polio, which was discovered in the sewage water in the region. The World Health Organization reported that UN agencies want to administer the oral polio vaccine type 2 to children under the age of ten later this month. They added, "In the absence of humanitarian ceasefires, it will not be possible to carry out the campaign."
