As Eid al-Adha approaches, Moroccan authorities have begun issuing decisions to "prohibit grilling heads of sacrificial animals" in streets and roads, for the sake of public safety and cleanliness. The President of the Tangier municipality, Munir Lemouri, issued a "temporary collective decision to ban grilling heads of sacrificial animals in various streets, alleys, and roads in the city of Tangier for the upcoming Eid al-Adha."
The decision states that "in addition to specialized professional shops, some locations will be temporarily designated for grilling in administrative annexes, after their sites are chosen by a mixed local committee."
The authorities clarified that "the execution of this decision is entrusted to local authorities, security services, and relevant municipal services, each within their jurisdiction." Local authorities emphasized that the ban is aimed at ensuring public safety and cleanliness, and they urged all citizens to positively engage in contributing to a clean holiday.
