The artist Hossam Junaid announced on his Facebook account that he is retiring from art due to the harsh circumstances he is currently experiencing, confirming that this year will be his last in the field of singing. Junaid noted that he will continue to perform until the end of the year due to his commitments to several contracts with event organizers for parties and travel, in addition to his obligations to produce a series of songs with composers and poets, as he will release a song every week on YouTube until the end of the year.
Junaid did not hide the reasons behind his retirement decision from his audience, saying: "There is a big Syrian businessman with influence all over the world who is scaring the organizers and those with interests not to work with me... Why? Because he is intimidating. I tried to send him messages to understand why from all directions, but he didn’t respond. I don’t know the reason; anyway, today is the time of power and money."
He continued: "Because the event organizers in Lebanon, who consider us one of their own, are also waging a big war against Hossam Junaid to save face." Junaid also mentioned that he is not able to comply with the request of some to sing low-quality songs and use vulgar language, stating: "To create a vibe, you have to swear, dance, and sing inappropriate songs. I tried, but I couldn’t. My voice and art are much greater than that, so I'd rather leave with dignity."
He concluded his post by saying: "I respect all artists and have never harmed anyone... And you will discover the voices next year... because there is no longer anyone foolish."
