Closure of Patisserie in Clemenceau with Red Wax

The Ministry of Public Health announced in a statement that it has "closed the patisserie 'Better from Scratch' in Clemenceau with red wax by decision of Minister of Public Health in the caretaker government, Firas Al-Abyad, after the ministry confirmed that the reason for multiple cases of poisoning in one of the capital’s hospitals was due to the consumption of sweets from the patisserie. The file has been referred to the public prosecutor."

A team of health inspectors from the ministry, following reports of salmonella poisoning cases, conducted an investigation and found that the common meal of the affected individuals consisted of sweets from the aforementioned patisserie. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the patisserie contained confectionery materials that expired in 2021, three years ago, and that the patisserie was unlicensed, necessitating the decision to close it with red wax.

The statement confirmed that the Ministry of Public Health reiterates the necessity of adhering to health and legal conditions regarding food safety, which should be given additional importance by the concerned parties in light of the current heatwave and changing weather conditions. The ministry emphasizes that there will be no leniency with violators in this matter at all, and strict measures will continue to be implemented against them to ensure public safety.
