Egypt's Foreign Minister: Immediate Cessation of Conflict in Sudan is Essential

Cairo, the Egyptian capital, is hosting a conference for Sudanese political and civil forces today, Saturday, with the presence of regional and international partners. The conference aims to listen to their views regarding the negative repercussions of the current conflict in Sudan, ways to address it, and the nature of the humanitarian needs required for those affected throughout Sudan, according to "Sky News".

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Atti stated during his speech at the Sudanese political and civil forces conference: "This conference is taking place at a historic turning point in Sudan's life," noting that "the Sudanese crisis affects the neighboring powers of Sudan, Africa, and the Arab world."

He added: "The conflict in Sudan has forced millions to displace and seek refuge both inside and outside Sudan. The conflict in Sudan and its negative effects have led to catastrophic repercussions on the overall humanitarian situation."

He emphasized that "efforts should be made for an immediate and sustainable cessation of the conflict to preserve our brotherly Sudan," calling on all international community parties to fulfill their commitments towards Sudan.

He concluded by saying: "The solution to the crisis in Sudan must be Sudanese, without any interference from any external entity or party," reminding that the unity of the Sudanese armed forces has been proven to be of utmost importance by the ongoing developments to protect Sudan.
