According to the "World Investment Report 2024" issued by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the net foreign direct investment inflows to Lebanon increased by 25.26% in 2023, reaching 582 million US dollars, up from 461 million in 2022. Specifically, the volume of foreign direct investment inflows to Lebanon rose by 24% in 2023 to nearly 655 million US dollars, compared to 527 million in 2022. This amount represents approximately 0.86% of total foreign direct investment inflows to the West Asia and North Africa region and 0.05% of global foreign direct investment inflows. This increase occurred during a period when global foreign direct investment inflows decreased by 2% in 2023 to approximately 1.33 trillion US dollars, compared to about 1.36 trillion in 2022.
