Israeli media announced the cancellation of a meeting that was scheduled between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir. On Monday, Ben Gvir criticized Netanyahu, accusing him of acting "like a one-man government." The Israeli National Security Minister stated that Israel "lives in a state of confusion in Gaza and on the northern border" with Lebanon. He said on his account on the platform "X": "We live in an absurd reality where we are struggling in Gaza and on the northern border, and the Israeli army is being constrained, and we are conducting negotiations under fundamentally illegitimate conditions, heading towards a political settlement that is all about surrendering to terrorism on all fronts."
Ben Gvir indicated that "when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acts as if it is a one-man government, making decisions alone and isolating his partners in the government while emptying cabinet meetings of their substance, this is intolerable." The far-right minister added: "The Prime Minister must understand that the term right-wing government is not an empty expression, and the positions of government members also carry weight." He further stated: "We did not come to shout from the podium; we came to make an impact. That is why our demand to join the war cabinet, which is currently being managed as a government, still stands."
Earlier, Israeli Channel 12 reported that Netanyahu was supposed to meet with Ben Gvir following his request to join the smaller government in exchange for supporting the rabbis' law.
