Title: Hamiye Calls "Telegraph" Article Absurd and Plans Legal Action

Title: Hamiye Calls

Public Works Minister Ali Hamiye deemed the article published by the British newspaper "The Telegraph" as "absurd." In a press conference, he urged the newspaper to consult the British Department of Transport, which had previously visited Beirut airport. He stated, "They are the main authority regarding transport issues at the airport." He emphasized that the primary responsible party for opening cargo boxes is the customs authority, which should be the source of this newspaper. He pointed out that "customs" represents the state in protecting Rafik Hariri Airport and cannot be questioned. Hamiye announced that he had contacted the Vice President of the Air Transport Union, who stated that the Telegraph's report was false and vehemently denied what was mentioned in the statement. Hamiye questioned, "Is it reasonable for a self-respecting newspaper to change its sources within an hour?" He invited media representatives and ambassadors to gather in the VIP lounge tomorrow at 10:30 AM to tour all airport facilities, saying, "We have nothing to hide." He added, "We are in the process of filing a lawsuit against the newspaper, and we will announce the details later."
