Trump Selects JD Vance as Vice Presidential Candidate

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has chosen Ohio Republican Senator JD Vance as his nominee for Vice President. Trump announced his decision in a post on his platform Truth Social, stating: "After thoughtful discussions and careful consideration, and taking into account the tremendous talents of many others, I have decided that the most suitable person to serve as Vice President of the United States is Senator JD Vance from the great state of Ohio."

He added: "JD has served our country honorably in the Marine Corps, graduated from Ohio State University in two years with honors, and is a graduate of Yale Law School, where he was an editor of the Yale Law Journal and president of the Yale Veterans Association. JD's book, 'Hillbilly Elegy,' became a bestseller and a film because he advocated for the hardworking men and women in our country."

Trump mentioned that "JD Vance has a highly successful career in technology and finance, and now, during the campaign, he will focus intently on the people he has championed brilliantly—American workers and farmers in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, and beyond."
