Break-in and Theft Incident

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement: "On June 28, 2024, an unknown individual broke into a citizen's home in the Mazraat Yachouh area, stealing jewelry and personal items before fleeing to an unknown location. Immediately, the specialized units of the Internal Security Forces commenced field operations and inquiries to uncover the thief's identity and apprehend him. As a result of investigations, the Information Division quickly identified him within hours as A. R. (born in 1991, Lebanese). On the same date, after observation and surveillance, one of the division's patrols was able to arrest him in less than 24 hours in the Jdeideh area while he was riding a red "Sweit" motorcycle, which was seized. A search of him and the motorcycle revealed various amounts of cash in different currencies, two mobile phones, and a metal crowbar. During the investigation, he confessed to the charges against him, including committing the break-in and theft from the mentioned home in Mazraat Yachouh, as well as stealing from a home in the Zalqa area and residences belonging to foreign workers. Legal proceedings were taken against him, and he was placed, along with the confiscated items, at the competent authority, based on judicial instructions."
