The Canadian pop icon, Celine Dion, has stirred the sympathy of her followers with her new documentary "I Am Celine Dion," which premiered today, Tuesday, June 25, on the Amazon Prime platform. In some scenes of the film, 56-year-old Celine, who was diagnosed with the rare Stiff-Person Syndrome in late 2022, is seen crying and appearing in a state of great distress as she struggles to regain control of her body following a severe seizure.
According to the British newspaper "Mirror," the new documentary features Celine consulting a doctor before her legs experience a spasm, causing her body to completely freeze as the doctor attempts to provide her with treatment alongside a colleague. The practitioners give her Valium in an effort to help her relax and stop the spasms. After recovering from the seizure, Celine is seen wrapped in a blanket, where she admits to feeling "embarrassed" about losing control of her body.
Celine expresses during the film, "Every time something like this happens, it makes you feel very embarrassed, so I don't know how to express it, it’s just... you know, like not being able to control yourself." However, the star displays immense determination, insisting that she "will not stop" fighting the disease until she can return to the stage again. Celine broke down in tears as she affirmed she wouldn’t allow the illness to overcome her, explaining, "I still see myself dancing and singing. I always find Plan B and Plan C, you know. That's me. If I can't run, I will walk. If I can't walk, I will crawl, but I won't stop."
