Iranian President Warns Israel Against Attacking Lebanon

Iranian President Masoud Bezhakian stated during a call with French President Emmanuel Macron that "if Israel attacks Lebanon, it will make a big mistake that will have severe consequences." The Iranian president added, "We hope that the commitments in the nuclear agreement will be implemented, that pressures will stop, and that sanctions will be lifted." The French presidency reported that "Macron spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday as part of Paris's efforts to prevent a wider escalation between Israel and Hezbollah." On Saturday, Israel accused "Hezbollah" of being behind the rocket strike that hit the Druze town of Majdal Shams in the occupied Golan Heights.
