Closure of Supermarket in Abi Samra - Tripoli

The Ministry of Economy and Trade in the north closed a supermarket in the Abi Samra neighborhood of Tripoli with red wax after an inspection tour by the ministry's inspectors in the area, overseen by the head of the ministry, Lama Alameddine. This action was taken following approval from the public prosecutor due to non-compliance with hygiene and food safety standards and the presence of expired goods.

Meanwhile, in the south, inspectors from the Ministry of Economy and Trade's Consumer Protection Directorate conducted rounds in food, meat, vegetable, and fruit stores within the city of Nabatieh, Kfar Rumman, and the town of Qlay'a in the Marjayoun district, to check the displayed goods, ensure their safety, verify price announcements, and calculate profit margins. Results were issued for five samples of distilled water: four met the standards while one did not. The inspectors issued a report against the owner of the distilled water filling shop and warned him to rectify the issue, with another sample to be collected next week for further evaluation.
