"Fatah" Alliance Optimistic About Barzani's Visit: It Will Resolve Many Disputes

Member of the "Fatah" Alliance, Salim Al-Anbaki, described the visit of Masoud Barzani, leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, to Baghdad as "important," indicating that it will resolve many ongoing disputes. Al-Anbaki stated in an interview with "Baghdad Today" that "the federal government is serious about settling all disputes between Baghdad and Erbil related to financial and oil files, and has taken many steps to resolve them." He noted that "Barzani's visit to Baghdad is significant in addressing many of those unresolved files, and such a high-profile visit will certainly yield tangible results on the ground."

He clarified that "dialogues between Baghdad and Erbil will not stop and will continue until all unresolved disputes are settled," adding that "work is ongoing to legislate the oil and gas law in the upcoming period, especially since this law is important and will provide solutions according to the laws for many oil and financial issues."

Masoud Barzani, along with his accompanying delegation, arrived in Baghdad today, Wednesday, after a years-long hiatus, following which a series of meetings were held with the Prime Minister and leaders of political blocs. Some Members of Parliament view the visit as significant and likely to contribute to resolving many of the ongoing disputes between the center and the region.
