A 4.5 magnitude earthquake struck Nasratabad in the Sistan and Baluchestan province of Iran today, Wednesday. According to the Mehr News Agency, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers beneath the surface at 02:55 local time. Following the 4.5 magnitude earthquake, two aftershocks measuring 2.6 and 2.8 occurred, and there have been no reports of fatalities so far. This earthquake comes just hours after a similar quake hit the city of Kashmar in Khorasan Razavi province, registering a magnitude of 5. Four people died and more than 120 were injured in that earlier earthquake, which struck the area at 1:24. Local authorities told national television that a rescue and search team was dispatched to the area immediately after the earthquake, adding that among the 120 injured, 35 were taken to the hospital for treatment.
