Vahid Zadeh from Ain al-Tineh: Iran Stands by Lebanon and Its People

The Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Shura Council, Vahid Jalal Zadeh, emphasized after meeting with Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri that "we officially reaffirmed the steadfast position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in its support for Lebanon, whether in its resistance against the Israeli enemy or in standing by Lebanon and the Lebanese people to overcome the difficult economic and financial crisis it is currently undergoing."

During his visit to Ain al-Tineh, alongside Iranian Ambassador Mojtaba Amani, Zadeh discussed the general conditions in Lebanon and the region, as well as the bilateral relations between Lebanon and the Islamic Republic of Iran. He stated, "Today we had the esteemed opportunity, alongside my colleagues from the Iranian National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, to meet with President Nabih Berri. As you know, the historical relations between the honorable Lebanese Parliament and the Islamic Shura Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran are characterized by good and constructive cooperation in all fields. Naturally, one of the main objectives of our current visit to the brotherly Republic of Lebanon is to work together with our Lebanese brothers to strengthen parliamentary relations between the Lebanese Parliament and the Shura Council in Iran."

He added, "We held an important and constructive meeting with His Excellency, which was an appropriate opportunity to listen to his perspective and his constructive and beneficial political views on all issues and political developments on both local and regional levels. Naturally, we hold in high regard the constructive resistance role that our brotherly Lebanon plays against the Zionist enemy and its malicious schemes towards the region and its peoples."

Zadeh continued, "We discussed the latest political developments in the region with His Excellency. I took this good opportunity to officially affirm before the President the steadfast position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in its support for the brotherly Lebanon, whether in its resistance against the Israeli enemy or in standing by Lebanon and the Lebanese people to overcome the difficult economic and financial hardship it is currently facing."

He concluded, "I extended an official invitation from the Speaker of the Shura Council, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, to his brother, Speaker Nabih Berri, to make an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran." Zadeh also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the caretaker government, Abdullah Bou Habib, at the head of a delegation that included committee members, in the presence of Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Jalal Firouznia.
