Russia Develops New Communication Satellite

The Russian "Rostech" organization announced that it is contributing to the manufacturing of certain parts for a new Russian communication satellite, all of which are produced locally. In a statement issued by the organization's press service, it was noted: "The Ruselectronics company, which is part of our organization, has completed the development of components for the Express-AMU satellite, which is being manufactured entirely from Russian components, and the company has begun delivering these new components to customers."

The statement indicated that "the components produced by Ruselectronics will be used in the automated control systems of certain parts of the new satellite, enabling the operation of various electric and hydraulic motors as well as signal relay devices within the satellite. This will allow the satellite to provide data transmission services and television broadcasting services."

For his part, the head of the technical design office at Ruselectronics, Alexey Demovsky, stated: "By mid-2025, we are expected to deliver the components we are developing for the new satellite to the customers." The mentioned satellite has been designed by the "Reshetnev" company, which is part of "Roscosmos." Alexey Volin, the general director of the company, mentioned in April that assembly operations for the satellite are expected to begin in the fall of this year, with the satellite ready by 2026.
