An Austrian company has managed to innovate a luxurious and exceptional submarine with unprecedented specifications never seen before by humanity. It is expected that this submarine will end the era of "luxury yachts" that the wealthy compete for, allowing them to move to underwater areas. A comprehensive report published by the British newspaper "Daily Mail" showcased the specifications of this new luxury submarine, noting that it is "the first super submarine of its kind in the world" and features a swimming pool, a beverage vault, relaxation areas, and a cinema for entertainment and movie watching.
According to the report, the submarine can accommodate 20 people underwater for four consecutive weeks without the need to surface, although its cost is around $2 billion USD. "Daily Mail" states that billionaires like Jeff Bezos and Roman Abramovich are already traversing the world's waters on massive floating entertainment vessels known as "luxury yachts," but this submarine makes them consider venturing below the surface to enjoy the depths of the ocean, as it is described as the "future of yachts."
The innovative Austrian submarine is named (Migaloo M5), measures 543 feet in length, and can hold 20 passengers alongside 40 crew members while submerged for four weeks. The luxury submarine is equipped with a swimming pool, a beverage vault, and a cinema, but its price tag of $2 billion USD means it is intended solely for the world's elite.
The ambitious submarine, capable of diving to a depth of 820 feet (250 meters), was designed by the design company "Migaloo," based in Graz, Austria, named after the fully white humpback whale. CEO Christian Gampold stated, "Our target group is visionary billionaires who have or do not have current experience in luxury yachts and who have extraordinary requirements for exclusivity, safety, adventure, or experiences."
Gampold added, "Since this is a completely new development, such a project will require corresponding financial resources, takes a lot of time to design and build, and requires many decisions." According to Gampold, the company is currently negotiating with "interested parties" to build the submarine, although he declined to disclose their names.
Promotional images of what the submarine will look like once constructed show a slender white vessel that contrasts sharply with the famous "Vanguard" submarines of the British Royal Navy. The swimming pools located on either side of the ship extend above the water while the submarine remains on the surface. However, like something out of a thunderbird, these pools can retract back into the vessel's body before descending underwater.
There is also a helipad for welcoming guests by helicopter before the ship descends, which is activated when the massive storage tanks onboard (called ballast tanks) are filled with water to reduce buoyancy. The luxury interior is largely clad in gold and white leather and comes complete with comfortable sofas, reclining chairs, and soft lighting. A staircase leads passengers downward to the pressure hull, where they can enjoy the depths of the ocean through viewing windows.
