Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated today, Monday, that the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) is preventing the conclusion of a ceasefire agreement and the release of hostages in Gaza, and that Israel has not changed any of its conditions. He added that "Israel is committed to the principles of the original proposal, which include the release of as many living hostages as possible, Israel's control over the border passage between Gaza and Egypt, and preventing weapons and Palestinian militants from returning to northern Gaza." Hamas announced today that Netanyahu "has once again resorted to a strategy of procrastination, delay, and evasion by imposing new conditions and demands on the proposed agreement."
