The United States is holding discussions with several regional parties regarding participation in a multinational force in the Gaza Strip, as part of post-war plans. British newspaper "Financial Times" reported that UAE Assistant Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Lana Nseiba stated that "the UAE is ready to join the proposed multinational force if the United States provides a leadership role and supports steps towards establishing a Palestinian state." Nseiba added that "the UAE has discussed the plans with the United States as a step to fill the void in Gaza, address its humanitarian needs, and facilitate rebuilding."
According to the paper, Nseiba also confirmed, "the UAE will not join the multinational force in Gaza after the war unless it receives an invitation from the Palestinian Authority after its reform." The details of the proposal published by "Financial Times" reveal that the draft proposal, which has been communicated to the United States, is among several options being discussed as Arab and Western countries struggle to pave the way for regional stability and the establishment of a Palestinian state. The idea was raised when U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Arab counterparts in Cairo last March, according to the newspaper.
