The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers clarified in response to the media statement made by Minister of Defense Maurice Sleem today, which addressed the General Secretariat. It stated, "The lengthy discussions that Mr. Minister complained about are merely a precise and faithful narration of the facts and data concerning the military academy file, with all its details and implications, as required by administrative principles. Thus, these 'lengthy discussions' are not creations or inventions of the General Secretariat."
In a statement regarding his comment about the necessity of holding a Cabinet session, the General Secretariat reminded the Minister that today's session was held in response to his request (as indicated in his letter number 2035/G/A, dated 2024/07/12). Out of our concern for the Minister's comfort, whom we respect and appreciate, regarding what he termed "lengthy discussions," we invite him to disregard reading the complete decision and focus solely on the last page, which indicates that the Cabinet responded to his request as he presented it, even in his absence from the session. Hence, this clarification was necessary.
