A suicide bombing resulted in the deaths of six people at a wedding, according to Nigerian police, on Saturday. A female suicide bomber carrying a child detonated explosives among the guests celebrating at a wedding in the city of Gwoza. Barkindo Saidu, the head of local rescue services, who was in Gwoza during the attacks, stated that "so far, 18 people have been killed in the attacks, including children, men, women, and pregnant women," adding that "19 victims with severe injuries" were transported in four ambulances to the regional capital Maiduguri. According to a news report, as prayers were being said for the victims of the wedding attack, "another female suicide bomber rushed in and detonated an explosive device, causing many casualties." A few minutes later, another explosion occurred "from a different explosive device" near the city's general hospital, according to Saidu.
