The President of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, Yasser Idris, in coordination with the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Sobhi, has decided to increase the value of rewards for winning medals during the Paris 2024 Olympics. The Egyptian Olympic Committee's media center announced that the reward for winning a gold medal has been raised to 5 million Egyptian pounds (approximately 100,000 USD), while the silver medal will earn 4 million Egyptian pounds (around 80,000 USD), and the bronze medal will receive 3 million Egyptian pounds (about 60,000 USD). In addition, each winner will receive an immediate bonus of 1,000 euros and a valuable wristwatch. Ahmed El-Gendy won the gold medal in modern pentathlon, Sarah Samir earned the silver medal in weightlifting, and Mohamed El-Sayed secured a bronze medal in fencing.
