UN Condemns Shelling of Refugee School in Gaza

The United Nations commented on the Israeli army's shelling of a school where refugees had taken shelter, resulting in the death of more than 120 individuals and injuring dozens. The UN Deputy Secretary-General, Farhan Haq, stated in a press release on Saturday: "Facilities used to shelter displaced persons should not be the target of attacks." He emphasized that "all facilities housing displaced people must be protected from attacks in accordance with international humanitarian law." The Israeli army targeted the school in the al-Daraj neighborhood in Gaza during dawn prayers on Saturday, leading to the death of 125 Palestinians and injuries to dozens, with the death toll expected to rise.
