The car of former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was deliberately damaged by "private security agents" with the intent to assassinate him, according to Iran International newspaper. Sources for Iran International reported that Ahmadinejad faced a failed assassination attempt. Earlier this month, Ahmadinejad's security team sent his vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser, for repairs due to an air conditioning malfunction, as stated by the dissident Iranian newspaper. Reports indicate that the assassination attempt involved tampering with the vehicle he was traveling in.
