Security Forces Investigate the Death of Elias Al-Hsarouni: Kidnapped, Killed, and Dumped in Al-Jal

Reports indicate that the initial investigations into the death of Elias Al-Hsarouni, a former coordinator for the Lebanese Forces party in the Bent Jbeil area and a member of the central council, suggest he may have been murdered. Relevant security agencies are working to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident and to confirm the information and evidence they possess.

Elias Al-Hsarouni's son, Danny Al-Hsarouni, stated in a media interview that "there is new data regarding the circumstances of his father's death," after earlier reports had indicated initial investigations leaned towards the possibility of murder. He pointed out that "there is a video showing the kidnapping, but it does not reveal what happened afterwards, as it only shows his detention and transfer to another vehicle. We do not want to accuse any entity prematurely before the investigations conclude."

A video of the abduction has circulated on social media, and a source from the Lebanese Forces confirmed to the "Waradana" site that "the circulating video is authentic, recorded by surveillance cameras at the location, and is now in the possession of the security forces investigating the incident."

Moreover, the mayor of Ain Ebel, Imad Al-Lous, stated: "The municipality and residents of Ain Ebel condemn the heinous attack on Elias Al-Hsarouni, who was killed in a premeditated incident as he was kidnapped and driven in his car to a deserted area where he was found in Al-Jal beside his vehicle." He added, "We ask the security forces, who now possess conclusive evidence of the kidnapping, to swiftly reveal the perpetrators of Al-Hsarouni's murder and impose the harshest penalties on them to maintain the security of the region."

Al-Hsarouni’s brother told the "Al-Jadeed" channel that "the family does not accuse any party, hoping that the investigation will reveal the culprit," mentioning that "I do not think the incident has political implications." He noted that "some want to fish in troubled waters."
