Kenyan police announced on Monday that they have arrested a "serial killer" after discovering nine mutilated bodies in a landfill in the capital, Nairobi, over the past few days. The head of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Mohamed Amin, stated, "We arrested a main suspect this morning. We are dealing with a serial killer, a mentally disturbed person who does not respect human life," revealing that "we have a second suspect who was arrested with one of the victims' phones." He mentioned that "the victims' ages ranged from about 18 to 30 years, and all were killed by the same method of slashing." Acting Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, noted that the 33-year-old suspect was arrested around 3 AM local time near a bar in a joint operation conducted by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and the National Police Service. He mentioned that nine bodies have been recovered so far, and autopsies will be performed on the victims' remains.
