Arrest of a Syrian for Harassing a 7-Year-Old Minor

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division reported that "as part of the daily monitoring carried out by the specialized units of the Internal Security Forces to combat harassment and breaches of public morals in various Lebanese areas, information became available on May 16, 2024, regarding an individual who had harassed a minor approximately 7 years old in one of the southern villages." It was noted that "immediately, the specialized units of the mentioned division began their field and information-gathering procedures to identify and arrest the perpetrator. As a result of investigations and inquiries, they were able to identify him as M. S. (born in 1985, Syrian). On the same date, after surveillance and follow-up, a patrol from the division raided his location and managed to arrest him." It was highlighted that "during the investigation, he confessed to the charges against him. Legal action was taken against him, and he was handed over to the relevant unit based on the directive of the competent judiciary."
