Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir has called for the execution of Palestinian prisoners by shooting them in the head, instead of providing them with more food. Ben Gvir stated, "My luck is bad that I had to deal in recent days with whether Palestinian prisoners should have a fruit basket. Prisoners should be shot in the head. The 'Jewish Power' law to execute prisoners should be passed in the Knesset in its third reading. Until then, we will give them a little food to survive... I don’t care about that."
In response, the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine condemned his statements in the strongest terms, describing him as a "Nazi criminal" who demands shooting prisoners in Israeli jails. The movement pointed out in a statement that "these statements reflect a repugnant criminal mentality based on bloodshed, and Ben Gvir's policies toward our prisoners, depriving them of food, drink, and medicine, and exercising the most horrific forms of systematic torture against them, in addition to openly arming settler gangs and inciting against the killing of innocents, seizing land, and violating sanctities, is a stain of shame on the forehead of everyone dealing with the Zionist entity, its sponsors, supporters, and those silent about its crimes."
