In an incident that signals an escalation in the ongoing conflict in southern Lebanon between Hezbollah and Israel, an Israeli drone launched two missiles at an orchard located at the eastern entrance of Sidon, creating two craters at the impact site, though there were no reports of injuries. Subsequently, security and military forces arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area. Security sources suggested that the Israeli drone likely targeted a moving object in the area but failed to hit it.
Israeli artillery continues to intermittently bombard the town of Kfarkela and the outskirts of the city of Khiam with phosphorus shells. Civil defense teams responded to fires ignited in Kfarkela due to today's Israeli attack, but they could not complete their mission as the town came under an aerial assault followed by a drone strike.
In response, Hezbollah announced in a statement that its members targeted "the Zabadin site in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms with rocket fire, achieving a direct hit," and also targeted "the Ramtha site in the occupied Kfarshuba Hills with rocket fire, achieving a direct hit."
