Maroun Shamas, the head of the oil importers' union, warned against storing petroleum products in populated areas due to the associated risks to citizens' safety and security. In an interview with "Voice of Lebanon," Shamas clarified that the available quantities are sufficient for a month, including those in warehouses or with consumers, whether in cars or electric generators. Shamas emphasized that citizens should fill their cars with gasoline in preparation for any emergencies, but this should not cause panic. He noted that the supply chain will not stop as long as the sea is open, adding that companies cannot preemptively import large quantities due to concerns about fluctuations in global oil prices.
