A wide-ranging raid and search operation by Iraqi security forces in the Al-Ghadir and Baghdad Al-Jadida areas resulted in the arrest of 168 individuals, including foreign women accused of prostitution and begging. The Rusafa police stated in a Facebook post that the "Baghdad Rusafa Police Command initiated a raid and search campaign in the Baghdad Al-Jadida and Al-Ghadir areas to apprehend wanted individuals and those violating residency conditions, as well as to inspect hotels, cafés, and suspicious places."
They noted that the results of the security operation included the arrest of 42 individuals wanted for various criminal cases and violations, 74 individuals and 2 women of different nationalities violating residency conditions, 22 foreign women accused of begging and prostitution, 27 foreign children who were begging, and 3 women accused of acts contrary to public morals. Additionally, a Kalashnikov rifle and a knife were seized, and the detainees were placed under arrest to complete the legal procedures against them.
