Morocco: Public Prosecution Pursues Two Gulf Nationals in Connection with Minor's Death

The Moroccan website Hespress reported that the public prosecution at the Marrakech Court of First Instance has decided to pursue two Gulf nationals while in custody, suspected of being involved in the death of a minor at a villa intended for tourism in the Sidi Ibrahim oasis.

The Moroccan site added that the judiciary also decided to follow up on seven other individuals of Kuwaiti nationality under provisional release, each required to pay a financial bail of 10,000 dirhams.

Sources indicated that the public prosecutor at the Marrakech court is pursuing three Moroccan young women on charges of "seducing a minor under the age of 18, molestation without violence, corruption, incitement to prostitution, facilitating the practice of prostitution, and drug consumption." The three young women are currently in provisional release after each paying a bail of 5,000 dirhams.

The site reported that the judicial center of the Royal Gendarmerie in the Marrakech region has opened a preliminary investigation with the two Gulf nationals and three young women following the death of a young woman in her twenties, who fell into a swimming pool and was transferred to a clinic in Marrakech, between life and death.

Sources for "Hespress" stated that the victim, who was taken to the emergency room of a clinic in Marrakech last Monday while unconscious, died due to an overdose of drugs. Investigators are awaiting the release of the autopsy report to determine the true cause of death before referring the detained individuals and anyone found complicit to the public prosecution.
