Countries Announce Sunday as the First Day of Eid al-Adha

The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia announced on Thursday evening that tomorrow, Friday, marks the first day of the month of Dhul-Hijjah 1445 Hijri. The Saudi Press Agency reported in an urgent news on the "X" platform, "The Supreme Court: Tomorrow, Friday, is the first of the month of Dhul-Hijjah, and the standing at Arafat will be on Saturday, June 15, 2024." Consequently, Sunday, June 16, will be the first day of Eid al-Adha.

Egypt has also declared that tomorrow, Friday, June 7, 2024, is the first day of Dhul-Hijjah, and that Sunday, June 16, will be the first day of Eid al-Adha, according to the Egyptian Fatwa House.

Jordan announced that tomorrow, Friday, is the first day of Dhul-Hijjah. The official Jordanian news agency (Petra) reported, "His Excellency the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, Dr. Ahmad Al-Hassanat, announced that tomorrow, Friday, is the first day of Dhul-Hijjah for the year 1445 Hijri. Accordingly, the standing at Arafat will be on Saturday, June 15, and the first day of Eid al-Adha will be on the following Sunday, June 16."
