Timour Jumblatt Takes the Lead in Mokhtara in His Father's Absence

It was notable yesterday, Sunday, that the former president of the Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Jumblatt, was absent from the large popular celebration held in Mokhtara in commemoration of the national leader Kamal Jumblatt's martyrdom. Leading the crowds was MP Timour Jumblatt, who expressed the necessary political positions and welcomed popular delegations at the Palace of Mokhtara.

The essence is that at the height of a dark political and regional scene, with the possibility of war erupting in Lebanon against Israel, Timour emerges alone in the Palace arena, a scene described by sources present at the celebration as "historic amid the conflict and tension." The same sources indicated that the public support for Timour yesterday was striking, and they noted that the message behind the absence of the elder Jumblatt was intentional.

They added: "Timour's solo presence to express the positions helps to solidify his leadership, making him a central figure in the Druze community during this current phase, which may transition into a new stage that further enhances his prominence." They concluded, "The Jumblatt phase is at its peak, and the popular scene affirms the leadership of the Socialist Party in the mountain while presenting a clear political and strategic statement centered on solidarity and adherence to national leadership."
