Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas stated today that the U.S. veto in the United Nations Security Council is a disappointing, regrettable, shameful, and irresponsible position that is unjustifiable, constituting a blatant aggression against the rights of the Palestinian people, their history, land, and sanctities, while challenging the will of the international community. In an interview with the "Wafa" agency, Abbas said, "The Palestinian leadership will formulate a new strategy to protect the independent Palestinian national decision and will proceed according to a Palestinian agenda rather than a U.S. vision or regional agendas, and will reconsider bilateral relations with the United States."
