Residents of Rmeish have appealed to the civil defense to hurry and extinguish the fires that have broken out in their forests due to Israeli bombardments on Thursday evening. They urgently need any kind of assistance; the fire is increasing and spreading, and with night approaching, the flames are out of control, nearing the army base, military tents, and people's homes. The people of Rmeish are calling for anyone with a water tractor or agricultural equipment to come and help, as they are providing water but are unable to keep up.
Details indicate that Israeli artillery shelling with incendiary and internationally banned phosphorous shells on the forests of the towns of Yaron and Qatmon on the outskirts of Rmeish in the Bent Jbeil district has led to widespread fires, devastating large areas of forested land and olive trees.
