The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) confirmed today, Wednesday, that the arrest warrant circulating on social media against Abu Zainab Al-Lami is "forged." The PMF stated in a press release that "the documents labeled as judicial orders that have been shared on some social media platforms, which harm the reputation of Assistant Chief of Staff of the PMF, Lieutenant General Hussein Falih Al-Lami, are malicious attempts to undermine the leadership of the PMF."
On Tuesday, a security source revealed the truth behind the alleged arrest warrant for the former head of the PMF Security Directorate and current assistant to the Chief of Staff, Abu Zainab Al-Lami. The source stated that "the arrest order circulating on social media against Abu Zainab Al-Lami is fake and has no validity."
Social media had reported a "forged" arrest warrant against Abu Zainab Al-Lami on drug charges. There has been considerable controversy in recent days following information regarding Al-Lami's removal from his position as the head of the PMF Security Directorate and his appointment as assistant to the Chief of Staff, only for sources to reveal that the removal decision was canceled, with no official confirmation regarding the removal or its cancellation to date.
