At a military base in southern Holland, General Arnaud Stalman, commander of the Dutch Air Force, stated that he expects that at some point this summer, F-16 fighter jets will finally fly in Ukrainian skies. Speaking in front of two F-16 aircraft at the base, where a new program has just begun to train Ukrainian Air Force instructors on aircraft maintenance, Stalman said, "This summer, almost everything is ready." The Dutch general noted that training pilots to operate the aircraft has not been simple, adding, "It's not just the pilots who need training; technicians and supervisors also require comprehensive instruction. We are providing extensive training to ensure they can effectively maintain the aircraft." Belgium, Denmark, Holland, and Norway have pledged to supply Ukraine with about 80 American-made F-16 fighter jets, which the Ukrainian forces have been requesting for over a year. However, the program has been affected by delays in delivery and training.
