Feeling warm with glowing skin under the sun can be wonderful, but some people may experience more pimples than usual during the summer. Thus, caution should be exercised in various ways. There are several factors that can damage the skin, from sunscreen (SPF) that clogs pores to the chemicals and chlorine from swimming in artificial pools.
In this regard, Dr. Sonia Khurana, a dermatologist, shared some tips to avoid pimples in hot weather. The expert explained that increased hydration can lead to "producing more oil," which will result in pimples on the skin. Khurana advised, "The skin should be cleaned twice a day (preferably using a cleanser containing salicylic acid), ensuring moisturization, and choosing an oil-free moisturizer."
She recommended using a sunscreen with at least SPF 30. However, if you find that your sunscreen is irritating your skin, the expert suggests looking for a physical sunscreen instead of a chemical one that contains ingredients like zinc oxide or titanium dioxide.
Khurana states, "Look for shade when it's convenient." She also advised avoiding heavy makeup and choosing oil-free makeup. She recommends using a gentle body cleanser and ensuring moisturization with a soothing moisturizer containing ingredients like glycerin.
