Egyptian writer Sherif Badr El-Din passed away early Wednesday morning due to a sudden heart attack, leaving behind a shock wave as he was just 45 years old. Many stars from the artistic community expressed their shock at the news, particularly those involved in his ongoing series "Crossroads," which is currently airing on "Shahid VIP," starring Hend Sabry, Iyad Nassar, and Magued El-Masry. Iyad Nassar wrote on his Facebook account mourning his colleague, saying: "I am shocked… I cannot comprehend… There is no power and no strength except in God… My dear friend and kind human Sherif Badr El-Din has passed away… May God have mercy on him and grant patience to his family and daughters… We ask for your prayers… Indeed, we belong to Allah and indeed to Him we will return."

Meanwhile, his friend businessman Hassan Sami, who is married to actress Dalia El Behairy, revealed the cause of death, stating that he had a phone call with the late writer the day before, where Sherif congratulated him on his birthday and they arranged to meet, only for Sherif Badr El-Din to suffer a heart attack the following morning and pass away. The late writer contributed to numerous successful dramas, most notably "Tamer and Shawki," "The Clinic," "The Man of the Crow," and "The Clinic" again, while his last series collaboration was "Crossroads," co-written with colleague Wael Hamdi. Sherif Badr El-Din departed six years after the death of his wife Dina, who passed away in 2018 after a struggle with illness. He continued to care for their daughters, but his passing was sudden.
