A birthday party in Kentucky, USA, turned into a massacre on Saturday after a shooting left four people dead and three others injured. According to the Florence police, "officers responded to a call from a private residence at 2:51 AM local time, and as they approached the scene, they heard gunfire and found two victims outside." The police added that the officers discovered several injured individuals inside the house and provided first aid to as many as possible. Partygoers informed the officers that "the suspect had fled" and provided a description of the vehicle.
The police chief explained that other officers entered the neighborhood and pursued the suspect's vehicle, which had escaped the scene. The police stated that a chase ensued and only ended when the suspect's car crashed into a ditch off the road, where he was found injured from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities reported that he was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The suspect was identified as Chase Garvey (21) from Florence.
Three of the victims were taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition. Investigations revealed that the suspect was known to the attendees of the birthday party held by the poolside of the home, and they had identified him to the police. He had a prior conviction for a sexual offense.
