The Italian Coast Guard announced the recovery of six bodies after a migrant boat sank this week off the southern coast, with more than 60 people on board missing, including many children. Twelve individuals were rescued after the boat sank approximately 120 nautical miles off the coast of Calabria late Sunday to early Monday, but one death was reported after reaching shore. The Italian news agency "ANSA" stated that the deceased was 25 years old and of Iraqi origin. The Coast Guard reported that they continue to search the area around the boat from both the sea and the air, noting that "after the search operations carried out so far, six bodies have been found." "ANSA" reported that these include four men and two women. The organization "Doctors Without Borders" is assisting the survivors who mentioned that 66 people are missing after the boat's wreck, "including at least 26 children, some of whom are just a few months old."
