In the Act: Arrest of a Drug Dealer

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division announced in a statement that "as part of the continuous monitoring carried out by the Internal Security Forces to combat drug trafficking and promotion operations in various Lebanese regions, information was obtained by the Information Branch regarding the activities of an unidentified person promoting drugs in multiple areas of the southern suburb."

The statement added, "As a result, the specialized units of the branch began their field and investigative measures to identify and arrest the suspect. Following investigations and inquiries, they were able to identify him as M. S. (born in 1985, Lebanese), who is wanted by the judiciary under an arrest warrant for the crime of money laundering and promoting counterfeit currency."

The statement continued: "On April 17, 2024, after careful monitoring, one of the branch patrols was able to arrest him in the act while he was promoting drugs in the Ghobairy area." It further noted: "A quantity of 61.6 grams of cocaine, divided and prepared for promotion, was seized from him, in addition to a sum of money, a mobile phone, a driver's license, and a passport in another person's name."

During the investigation, he confessed to the charges regarding his drug promotion activities in areas including Airport Road, Ghobairy, and Sayyid Hadi Nasrallah Highway. The statement concluded: "Legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred along with the seized items to the relevant authorities, based on the directions of the concerned judiciary."
