Haniyeh: Any Agreement That Does Not Ensure a Ceasefire is Rejected

The head of Hamas' political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, emphasized that "the movement still insists that any agreement that does not guarantee a ceasefire and an end to the aggression in Gaza is a rejected agreement, and our position will not change at any stage." Haniyeh made these remarks in response to the death of his sister on Tuesday, stating that "the enemy has chosen escalation, invaded Rafah, closed the crossings, and caused humanitarian disasters and severe famine throughout the sector. The international community is required to act to stop the aggression, facilitate the entry of aid, and provide the necessities of life for our people." He pointed out that "the movement has shown all possible flexibility and has agreed without hesitation to all proposed projects on the condition that it results in stopping the crimes, ending the aggression, and the complete withdrawal from the sector."

He stressed that "all ideas regarding the next day and the arrangements for the internal house must be purely Palestinian, and no one has the right to interfere in them, neither the occupation nor anyone else." Haniyeh added, "In this context, I can only mourn this new group of martyrs from my family, including my eldest sister and her family. If the criminal enemy thinks that targeting my family and relatives will change our positions and our resistance, they are mistaken because every martyr in Gaza and Palestine is from my family and kin." He concluded, "I repeat that the martyrs of my family are martyrs of our people, and the martyrs of our people are also my kin, there is no difference among the martyrs. The blood of the martyrs demands that we do not compromise, do not appease, do not change or weaken, and do not despair."
